So Ive been living in Bangkok for a little over a month now. Wow, what a trip. Feel free to ask me anything you want about this place, culture, food, women,weather, whatever.

My friend who lives out here has been out here for over 4 years now so theres not much I haven't seen/done since I been here. I feel like I've been through it all already. Or maybe theres some rx members who have been here and have something to add.

how much is a nice two bedroom apartment in Bangkok up to north american standards with security and such?

You would probably be looking at around 20,000 BAHT for a nice little condo. Thats the equivalent of about 625 USD a month.

Yes, there are restrictions, my friend actually just bought one but was telling me you can only buy condos and there are even restrictions that apply to those.

Something about having to be in a certain type of building or something. I can find this one out and get back to you.

Ridiculously strict. Women got caught trying to leave the country with heroin and got life in prison. LIFE. NO PAROLE HERE.

She will never see her family again. No second chances. And Thai prisons are brutal, unsanitary and totally inhumane.

Depends where you go and what you like to drink. A lot of the clubs theres no cover charge. Some are around 200 BAHT, some are up to 800 BAHT. Drinks can range anywhere from 30 BAHT to 250.

After 30 days you need to take a bus to the border of Cambodia to get it renewed. They handle it for you while you wait inside a casino.

If you dont get it handled the fee is 600 BAHT a day with a max penalty of 20000 BAHT for overstaying. Can't leave the country unless you get that handled.

Agreed. Its not worth it. Although you can pretty much bribe the police out of anything.

furthermore, the thai government is even offering a guarantee, if your vacation gets disturbed in any way due to the political situation, they refund a portion.

In general Thais LOVE Americans (spend more /tip better also than Euros.....)and will let you do anything you want......don't get loaded and cuss out the king in public.....don't get caught with drugs and you're gravy.
